Moving Dock from one Mac device to another Mac monitor seems like a difficult task; however, it is not. This feature is available on Mac devices running on Mac OS X’s various versions like Mavericks and EI Capitan. A lot of features have vanished as they are much older in their variants, but Mac OS X provides many new features like shifting the Dock from one display to the other.
Mac and other multiple desktops
After the release of the Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, the Mac Dock could be viewed on other plugged displays in which the Mac is connected via the cord. The primary bar will be visible on your currently active monitor only; all the rest will show the inactive mode, looks gray.
Shifting the Dock to other Monitors
Follow these steps to know how we can manage and shift the Dock to other displays:
- First of all, shift your mouse or the trackpad to the non-primary monitor. Move your mouse cursor to your desired monitor.
- Then navigate your mouse cursor to the lowermost portion of your screen, most probably on that place where Mac’s Dock should show on the Mac screen.
- Wait for some time until the Dock appears on your display just below the cursor.
- Now your Dock is prepared fully to run on the new display.
